![]() I love this picture of Alan and me, It was taken circa 1998/9, I was only age 29! My younger self back then could not have even begun to imagine the path that would unfold. A career in Financial services that would take off but would have such damaging effects on marriage and family life and my own confidence and self-esteem. Unborn babies lost, failed adoptions, depression, anxiety all of which opened up the possibility to find a new way to live and be happy and experience joy. Giving up the security of a career to venture into the world of self-employment. Reinventing my marriage and family and connecting even deeper with the love of my life, the birth of a child in middle age and the birth of a whole new life, watching my first born grow and find her freedom and the loss of life, losing both my parents so unexpectedly in their prime. Friendships lost, friendships found, friendships reignited. Learning to understand what forgiveness truly means and healing old wounds from years gone by. And so much more! A lifetime of experiences and challenges that the younger me could never have foreseen! Oh how I love that younger me, she had no idea how strong she would need to be to create a life of love, passion, and joy. Or how through all of the life's challenges that she would rise time and time again to fulfill the passion in her soul. Or that the young man she met on a blind date almost thirty years ago would stand by her side and become the foundation, the rock and the unwavering belief in which she would return to time and time again, to reinvent herself time and time again and to finally allow the real Avril to shine through. Oh, how I love that beautiful younger me if only I had told her that more often! What would you say to your younger self now? Shout it out and tell them how well they are going to navigate a life filled with the unknown and yet to be seen experiences. I dare you to share a picture of your younger self, share your story and remind that younger you how strong they are and how loved they are! From my younger self to yours! Be you! Be happy! Be love!
